"I
have lived a robust life and the vigor with
which I pursued my objectives leaves a strong
impression on most people. Many agree and
support my goals, whether I am working for
a new residential development, the construction
of a Buddhist Monastery in Vermont, or the
protection of the world’s oceans and
marine life. However, I recognize that the
active pursuit of my ends also has its detractors,
who disagree, criticize and oppose my projects.
Encountering opposition is a natural part
of being in the public arena and trying
to change the status quo. With the Press
Room, I wanted to provide an archive of
independent news articles that give context
to the events of my life over the past 38
years."
